This is a pair of Opalised Fossil in Boulder, known as Pipe Opal. This comes from Queensland, Australia. The name Pipe Opal means that that the plant‚Äôs branch or roots was, many melena ago, Opalised, so to leave a tube shape of opal in the surrounding rocks. The surrounding material can either be dark ironstone or yellowish sandstone. Such material is now getting much rarer to obtain.
